10 Superyachts of the 40-Metre Class to Charter in Croatia in 2026: 115 to 145 ft (35 to 44 m), Ranked by Length

Last updated: September 2026

The 40 metre class runs from 115 to 145 feet, about 35 to 44 metres. We list 38 yachts in that band on this site, and 36 of them name Croatia as a cruising area. Most take 12 guests, and six cabins is the most common layout, and a handful of custom-built yachts are listed for far more.

Below are 10 of them, picked to show the range, from a 2025 explorer-style yacht to a Benetti and a motor yacht for 34 guests, not to crown a single best boat; they lean to the upper end of the class on price. The countdown runs from #10, the shortest, up to #1, the longest, by listed length; where two share a length, the newer ranks higher. Lengths, guest counts and rates are as shown on each listing on 29 September 2026, and we label each rate with the year its listing gives.

What 115 to 145 Feet Gets You in Croatia

Guests. Twelve is the usual ceiling, because a vessel carrying more than twelve passengers counts as a passenger ship. Of our 38 listings in this band, 21 take exactly 12 guests and 6 take 10. Croatia is the exception: Croatian-licensed vessels can take bigger groups in Croatian waters, as our guide to yacht charters for more than 12 guests explains, and 7 of the 38 are listed for more than 12, from 14 up to 40 guests.

Cabins and builders. Six cabins is the norm (20 yachts), then five (8). Thirteen listings give the builder simply as custom; the rest come from yards such as Benetti, Heesen, CRN, Princess and Sunseeker, with no yard listed more than twice.

What they cost. Of the 36 priced in euros, the middle starting rate is €80,000 per week, with the cheapest tenth starting below about €36,300 per week and the dearest tenth above about €130,000 per week.

What a 40 Metre Charter in Croatia Costs

The rates above are charter fees only. On top come the APA, an advance for fuel, food and marina fees that is settled against what is actually spent, and VAT. For charters in Croatia, VAT is a flat 13 percent on the charter fee, not on the APA, as our first crewed charter guide explains; the listings of SILENT WORLD, MIRAGE IV, ANETTA and DALMATINO quote it too. The APA on these listings runs from 25 percent (DALMATINO) to 40 percent (MIRAGE IV and SILENT WORLD).

As a general illustration, a charter fee of €100,000 per week with 13 percent VAT comes to €113,000 per week, and a 40 percent APA adds an advance of €40,000 per week, settled against what is actually spent.

How to Choose Within the Class

Start with the group. For more than 12, LUPUS MARE is the one here, and our list of Croatia yacht charters for 13 to 30 guests has more. Then decide how much of the week you want to spend moving: cruising speeds on the ten run from 9 to 18 knots, and each entry gives its figure. If jet skis matter, bring a licence: Croatian law normally requires a valid licence and an operator over 18, as our first crewed charter guide explains.

High season dates differ by listing, from July and August to mid-June to mid-September, and each entry gives its dates. Tell us your dates and how many guests, and we will check which of these ten, or the other yachts we list in this band, is free. For smaller yachts, see our 30 metre class guide.
