A gulet is the most characterful and best-value way to charter Croatia for a large group of 13 to 26 guests. Most charter yachts are licensed for 12 guests; these gulets are licensed to take more. These traditional wooden motorsailers give you generous deck space, en-suite cabins, a full crew and chef, and a relaxed pace, all chartered privately for your group alone. Below are the ten best Croatian gulets for a big group, chosen for cabin layout, deck and shade, value per person, and onboard toys.

Broker insight
A gulet is the most relaxed, best-value way to put 14 to 22 people on one boat in Croatia: all that teak and deck space, and a crew who cook and look after you. If you're closer to 20 guests but still want it to feel like a private yacht, CATALEYA is the one.

10. MENDULA
MENDULA is the biggest gulet on this list, built for groups of up to 26. At 134 feet she has cabins on three decks, including doubles with a small extra bed for young children, which makes her a natural fit for a multi-family reunion.
Her owner-captain bought her in 2024 to run as a private charter yacht, and a crew of seven, with a head chef and a sous chef, keeps up with a full boat. A jacuzzi, a 14-person tender, three paddleboards, a kayak, water skis, a wakeboard and four floating mats cover the days. She is based in Split.
9. STELLA MARIS
STELLA MARIS suits groups up to 16 who want more comfort and polish than a standard gulet. With 8 cabins and a length of over 120 ft, she offers noticeably more space per guest, both in cabins and on deck.
We recommend her because the combination of layout, finish, and crew ratio works very well when she is full. 6 queen cabins and 2 twins give good flexibility for couples and families. The interior has a classic nautical look with glossy wood and blue-and-white tones, while the main saloon includes a proper bar and a distinctive atlas-style floor.
On deck, guests get a foredeck jacuzzi and extensive sunbathing areas, including a large upper deck.
With 7 crew members, service and water-sports operations scale smoothly for 16 guests, which makes a big difference on busy, activity-heavy charters.
8. NAUTILUS
NAUTILUS works well for up to 16 guests because the layout is simple and fair: 8 equal double cabins, all en-suite, so no one is stuck with a “bad” cabin.
We recommend her primarily for the balance between rate and what you actually get. For the charter price, you’re getting a jacuzzi, plenty of sunbeds, a very social aft deck, and an interior that’s kept fresh with regular upgrades.
The big differentiator is the food. The chef focuses on tailored, local Mediterranean cuisine, and guests repeatedly comment on how good it is.
When you divide the total cost between 8–16 guests, NAUTILUS delivers one of the strongest price-to-experience ratios in this size range.
7. TAJNA MORA
TAJNA MORA carries six crew for 18 guests, two of them stewardesses, so service holds up with a full boat. Her nine cabins are four doubles and four twins on the lower deck plus a convertible cabin on the upper deck, which makes it easy to place couples, friends and children.
She is a 2007 gulet based in Split, with the generator running around the clock and air conditioning all night. Her chef has been aboard for six years and cooks traditional Mediterranean food. A wave runner, a wakeboard, water skis, paddleboards and kayaks cover the days.
6. CESARICA
CESARICA is built for large events and “everyone is coming” charters. At 134 ft with 11 cabins, she offers more volume than a typical gulet, which shows in her wider corridors, good headroom, and three proper deck levels.
We recommend her when clients are planning birthdays, reunions, retreats, or small weddings and need the space to match. The foredeck, with its varnished wood and jacuzzi, is particularly photogenic and works extremely well for sunset cocktails and group photos.
Multiple outdoor areas, including an upper deck with bar and seating, mean you can run parallel activities without the boat feeling crowded.
The galley is set up for higher-end, plated dining, not just family-style serving. Considering her size, finish, and 22-guest capacity, the per-person cost is very competitive.
5. GIDEON
GIDEON fits 16 guests in eight double cabins, so eight couples share the week on equal terms and nobody gets the small room. She is a 110-foot gulet run by her owner-captain, whose family bought her, and her chef cooks traditional Dalmatian dishes with a modern touch.
Up to 25 hours of engine cruising a week is included in her rate, which takes the guesswork out of the fuel bill. A 60hp tender, two double kayaks, paddleboards, a wakeboard, water skis and a floating mat cover the days. We placed two charters on her in July 2026. She sails from Split, with Dubrovnik on request.
4. ALLURE

ALLURE is a solid choice for 14 guests who want a classic gulet look without overpaying. Seven en-suite cabins and a warm mahogany interior create that traditional sailing-yacht atmosphere, which many first-time guests love.
We recommend her because the overall quality is high for her price bracket and because she performs well under full load. The aft deck is a strong point for groups: it’s well sheltered, comfortable, and works perfectly for long dinners and social evenings.
Service is organised and friendly, and the cuisine is a real highlight; feedback from inspections and guests is consistently strong.
For groups who care about a “real gulet” feel, very good food, and sensible pricing, ALLURE is an easy recommendation.
3. CATALEYA
CATALEYA is one of the few gulets in Croatia that can genuinely host up to 21 guests and still feel like a private yacht. 9 cabins, including triples, give useful flexibility for big families and mixed-age groups.
We recommend her because she manages this capacity without slipping into a dark or crowded feel. The interior is brighter and more modern than most gulets of her size, which matters when 21 people are moving around inside.
Outside, the combination of two dining areas, a foredeck jacuzzi, and generous sunbathing zones lets the group split naturally into quieter and livelier areas.
A strong, professional chef with a background in Croatian gastronomy is another key plus. For very large groups, her comfort and food level at this price point are hard to beat.
2. LUNA
LUNA is the gulet groups rebook. Our broker Chris de Kock placed a family-and-friends group on her in 2026, and they were already booking again for the next year. We have run three charters on her in two seasons.
She sleeps 18 in eight cabins, with deck space over four levels, so a big group never sits on top of each other. A jacuzzi and a swim platform keep the children busy. The toy list includes water skis in adult and kids’ sizes, a wakeboard, kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel sets for 14. She is based in Split, with Dubrovnik pick-up as well.
1. CROATIA
CROATIA is the gulet we book most for groups of 14: four charters through our brokers between 2025 and 2027. Her seven cabins split cleanly for a big group, four doubles and three twins, so couples and friends who prefer separate beds are both covered, and every cabin has its own bathroom.
She is a 105-foot classic with a teak deck and a mahogany hull. A full boat never feels crowded, because there are four places to gather: the saloon, the aft-deck table, a snack and cocktail spot midships, and a foredeck nook for late evenings. A jacuzzi, a jet ski and paddleboards cover the days.
