Yquem Yacht Description
First, the core upgrade: YQUEM is a 31.7m Trident sailing yacht that had her rig pulled apart and refreshed and her interior ripped and rebooted in 2021. Mast out, rigging renewed, upholstery and panelling replaced, art and linens updated. Result: classic performance sloop, current‑generation living.
Not a white condo, an actual sailing machine. Tripp Design drew the lines, Donald Starkey did the interior, and the composite hull keeps her light, stable and efficient under sail. You’re not just motoring between anchorages – at 9–12.5 knots she delivers the “proper sailing” part of a sailing charter, with a deck layout that’s still human‑friendly: protected cockpit with C‑shaped sofas and a big dining table, sunbeds aft, and a clean foredeck that turns into a yoga deck or sun lounge once the tender is off.
Why clients actually book YQUEM: she sleeps 8 in 4 double, en‑suite cabins (yes, all doubles, no one gets stuck in a bunk), and the master adds something rare on a 104ft sailboat – a full bathtub as well as a shower. There’s full A/C, good natural light via skylights, and a layout that can host up to 25 guests for quayside events when you feel like turning “nice sailboat” into “instant party platform.”
Comfort + toys, without the circus. The stern swim platform and ladder make water access easy, then the toys come out: 4.6m Novurania RIB, water skis (adult and kids), wakeboard, multiple paddleboards, snorkel gear, inflatable toys and beach games. Onboard Wi‑Fi, salon TV and a serious sample menu mean the off‑water time is just as dialled in. Translation: you get a real sailing yacht, modernised where it counts, that still behaves like a private boat rather than a floating resort.
Accommodation
Built by Windship Trident in 1992 and with an interior refit and new rigging in 2021, at 31.7m, S/Y Yquem (ex Elton, Lunar Mist, Cinderella II) offers charter guests a spacious and stylish approach to sailing. During the refit the mast was taken down and fully restored and the interior received all new upholstery, new panelling, new art work and new linens and finishings, giving her a fresh and contemporary look. The vessel’s sophisticated exterior design and engineering are the work of Tripp Design, while her timeless interior is the work of renowned superyacht designer Donald Starkey.
She accommodates up to 8 guests overnight with 3 crew members to ensure guests have an exquisitely comfortable and luxurious experience. A top speed of 12.5 knots and a cruising speed of 9 knots ensure relaxed sailing and excellent performance on the water.
The aft deck serves as the perfect place for guests to unwind in the sun, with an optional Bimini when shade is required. There are C-shaped sofas either side and a large table for alfresco group dining and cocktails on an evening. The stern leads down to the swim platform, where the swim ladder grants easy access to the ocean.
All cabins are en-suite and have a double bed, plenty of wardrobe space and a skylight for plenty of natural illumination. The Master en-suite has a bathtub and shower, plus a vanity and head. The other en-suite bathrooms all feature a vanity, head and shower.
Expect a true taste of sailing in optimum comfort.

Price Terms
Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see
Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a sailboat like Yquem, the expected APA is 15% to 30% of the charter price (€4,500 - €9,000), making the charter cost €34,500 to €39,000. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.
