Transcript — Captain's Interview: The History and Soul of Gallant
Captain: Uh, this boat was born 75 years ago. That means the boat was not built originally like a passenger boat. It was a boat who was supplying lighthouse. After electronic exploding, uh, all lighthouses now are automatically. And the company who was owner of this boat sold it, and my family bought it five years ago. And we spent two years rebuilding the boat and making it a passenger yacht.
I am seventh generation from my mother's side and fifth generation from my father's side, both builders and boat owners. My experience with these jobs is 35 years. That means we have a feeling in the family that, uh, what we, how we built from a cargo boat that can be a passenger yacht.
We are actually here like avant-garde because if you're comparing many other yachts with shiny fiberglass or something, this is a really original Croatian traditional wood boat.
We have clients from everywhere. Most of our clients actually, the last years, are Americans. Why Americans? Because now Croatia is very popular in America.
If you are looking at the boat in these pictures, this is not realistic. When you are touching this boat, when you really feel the smell of the boat, it is much, much different from the picture.
