Croatia Motor Yacht Charter
We recommend motor yachts for clients who want to see more of Croatia in less time. With over 1,000 islands and no anchoring restrictions, you can stop right in front of beaches, explore remote coves, or dock in luxury marinas along the Dalmatian Coast.
Expect speeds of 12–20 knots, luxury-level comfort, and smooth cruising from island to island. It’s the best way to cover distance, like Split to Dubrovnik, in a one-week itinerary, without losing time under sail. Or venture north to the stunning Kornati Islands.
The Croatian motor yacht fleet is strong, growing, and mostly locally owned. Many captains own the yachts themselves, which means sharper service and real local know-how.
Why Charter a Motor Yacht in Croatia?
- Fastest option: 15+ knots gets you further on a 1-week yacht charter
- Ultimate luxury amenities: Spas, Jacuzzis, Gyms, Cinema Rooms, Jet Skis – motor yachts got it all
- Fantastic motor yachts options: Increased popularity in Croatia has grown the fleet
Featured Croatian Motor Yachts
We get onboard the charter yachts at yearly yacht shows like the recent CROYA Yacht Show, held in Split in October 2024. Our decision is based on amenities, our impressions of the crew, value for money, and client feedback; they are some of the BEST deals available right now!

Where to Start Your Croatian Motor Yacht Charter
We recommend launching your charter from Split or Dubrovnik, depending on your route:
-
Split (ACI Marina Split / Marina Kaštela)
Ideal for central and northern itineraries—think Hvar, Vis, Brač, and the Kornati Islands. The marinas are close to Split Airport, with excellent facilities and easy provisioning. -
Dubrovnik (Marina Frapa / ACI Dubrovnik)
Perfect for southern routes, including Mljet, Korčula, and the Elafiti Islands. Dubrovnik offers modern berthing, cruise-ship level infrastructure, and smooth logistics.
You can also start from Zadar or Šibenik for Northern Adriatic trips, especially those focused on the Kornati Islands and Krka National Park
Where to Go on Your Croatia Motor Yacht Charter
Thanks to cruising speeds of 15–30 knots, a motor yacht charter in Croatia gives you the freedom to explore any part of the Dalmatian Coast or even Istria in the north.
Our favorite route runs from Split to Dubrovnik, covering just 130 nautical miles and averaging under two hours of cruising per day. It hits iconic islands like Hvar, Vis, and Mljet National Park and ends in Dubrovnik’s old town – an epic finish to a Croatian motor yacht charter.
For nature lovers or returning charterers, we recommend heading north to the Kornati Islands. This archipelago of over 100 islands is only accessible by boat, with remote anchorages, stunning cliffs, and calm waters—perfect for guests who want peace, privacy, and incredible scenery.

When is the Best Time for a Motor Yacht Charter in Croatia?
The high season for Croatia yacht charters spans from July to August. This is by far the busiest time as well as the hottest.
We recommend planning your Croatia motor yacht charter for May-June and September-October. These months are less crowded, and charter rates can be cheaper than during the high season, especially for popular destinations such as Dubrovnik.
How Much Does a Motor Yacht Charter in Croatia Cost?
For a 1-week crewed motor yacht charter in Croatia, we typically tell clients to spend at least €50,000 if they want a truly high-end experience. Here is an example price breakdown of a luxury motor yacht like MAJERA, a brand-new 2024, 87-foot Sirena with 5 cabins for 11 guests and fantastic amenities, including a Jacuzzi and spa room.
- Base Price: €77,500
- Croatian Charter Tax (13%): €10,075
- Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA – 35%): €27,125
- Crew Gratuity (15%): €11,625
Total Estimated Cost: €126,325 for a week.
This covers everything involved in your charter: Food, drinks, fuel (usually 3-4 hours per day), crew services, and use of water toys.

What Does a Motor Yacht Look Like Onboard?
A Croatia motor yacht is everything you need for a comfortable and fun trip on the water. Most have 3-5 cabins, so there’s room for 6-12 guests to stay. The saloon is spacious and perfect for relaxing or eating, with big windows so you can enjoy the view.
Outside, you’ll find sunbathing spots, a shaded dining area, and a swim platform to easily get in the water. Most motor yachts also come with a big selection of water toys like paddleboards, seabobs, and jet skis, and amenities like jacuzzis, spa facilities, cinema rooms, and so on.
Croatian Motor Yachts for More than 12 Guests
Croatia is one of our top destinations for yacht charters for more than 12 guests.
Croatia offers one of the largest selections of crewed yachts legally certified for 12+ guests. (Some of our largest luxury yachts can accommodate 30 – 70 guests.) These include custom motor yachts locally known as Croatia small ship cruises, (and some rare motorsailers and gulets)
As small ship cruises are hard to come by in most other countries, they book out fast, so inquire in good time!

Read MoreHow Far in Advance Should You Book Your Croatian Motor Yacht Charter?
Ideally, you’d inquire about a Croatia motor charter 12 months in advance. WHY? The best motor yachts are often fully booked long in advance and it’s not unusual to see popular dates booked 2 summers ahead for a Croatia yacht charter vacation.
Inquiring less than 6 months ahead often means that your first choice is unavailable for charter. Additionally you might find that the motor yacht you want, can’t make it to the port where you wish to commence your yacht charter.

An incredible experience
Very professional, communicated clearly and planned an amazing trip for us. Louis Lamprell did an amazing job connecting us with the unbridled yacht and crew. It was a trip of a lifetime. Our family highly recommends both DMA yachting and the unbridled charter. Everything was perfection!

Our charter was with Zuri3 and our Captain Andre and First Mate Jana made our trip amazing! They made sure everything was taken care and treated us like royalty. This is not just a vacation this is an experience of a lifetime.

Louis was great from beginning to end and walked me through the whole process. He helped me find a great boat that fit within our time and cost preferences. He explained the differences between the different builds and the pros and cons. Once we selected the boat, he explained and walked me through the whole booking process and answered all my questions. Finally, he checked in with me before, during, and after the charter to make sure everything met our expectations. I can’t recommend Louis enough if you are planning a charter, and I will definitely be in touch for our next trip!
