Croatia Yacht Charter Regions
We can divide Croatia’s coast into four sub-regions: Istria in the north, northern Dalmatia, Central Dalmatia, and Southern Dalmatia. Each of these areas can be explored on a one-week charter. Be aware that not all regions are equally suitable for catamaran charters, as the distances between hotspots vary.

Why 9/10 Charters Choose the Split Yacht Charter Itinerary?
We are seeing a clear preference for the Split-Split or Split-Dubrovnik Yacht Charter Itinerary, with more than 90% of our luxury yacht charters happening in this southern part.
Why? because this is where the most iconic historical destinations are located, such as Split, Hvar, Vis, and Dubrovnik. People coming to Croatia for the first time want to go to see these most famous places, and rightly so. These are some of the most beautiful spots, and the best way to see them is when arriving by sea.
I Want to See Both Dubrovnik and the Kornati National Park. Can I Mix 2 Itineraries?
The distance between Dubrovnik and the Kornati is at least 150 nautical miles, and with a yacht doing 10 knots, this is 15 hours of cruising. –That is a long time spent at sea if you only have one week! It is also costly in fuel.
So unless you are doing an extended charter, you are chartering a super fast speed boat, or you are happy to spend most of your time at sea, we do not recommend it. Instead, focus on one area and save the other for when you return. –Many people do!
What Weather Conditions Can I Expect During the Croatian Summer?
The weather along the Dalmatian coast and its islands is typically Mediterranean, with warm, sunny days and mild evenings. Mornings often start with calm conditions, gradually picking up as sea breezes develop in the afternoon, providing ideal sailing winds.
Stronger winds, like the “Bora” or “Jugo,” can occasionally occur, bringing gustier conditions. Generally, the breeze dies down in the evening, leading to calm and peaceful nights perfect for anchoring. Compared to Greece, we see very few issues with the weather causing major changes to itineraries in Croatia.
Can I Secure a Spot on the Dock at Hvar in the Middle of High Season?
The short answer is No. Getting a spot on the tiny dock of Hvar when it is most crowded with boats is quite unlikely. But it is not impossible. However, it is not early booking or a fat stack of cash that makes it; it is an experienced Captain with good connections, and even then, you can only cross your fingers.
Why is it so hard? Because these public ports do not accept reservations, not even if you inquire 2 years in advance. If you have someone tell you otherwise, you might be disappointed. Besides, weather conditions can sometimes make docking less than ideal anyway.
