Onboard twice: at the CROYA Yacht Charter Show in Split in October 2024, her first season, and again in September 2025, at anchor off Split with her sister ships, for lunch.
REPOSADO is the yacht I point to when someone asks whether a Croatian yard can build at the level of the Italians. She is 52 metres of steel with three masts and black sails, launched by Tramontana in 2024, and she is the kind of boat where everything is dialled in: spotless, cared for, and run with real pride. The napkins match the sun deck pillows. That sounds like a small thing until you have walked enough yachts to know how rare it is.
I saw her the week she started chartering and again a full season later, and the second visit is the one that matters. A year of charters had not left a mark.
The numbers that matter
- Type: 52 m (171 ft) steel motorsailer, three masts, built by Tramontana in Croatia, launched 2024
- Design: interiors by NO.MAD Design (Nataša Orlović), exterior by Radež
- Guests: 12 in 6 cabins: a full-beam master, a VIP and four convertible double or twin cabins
- Crew: 10
- Base: Split. Croatia and Montenegro in summer, elsewhere on request.
- Rates: €115,000 to €155,000 per week by season, plus 13% VAT and expenses
- Per person, full boat: roughly €9,600 to €12,900 a head for the week before VAT and expenses
- Pace: 11 knots cruising, 15 maximum, 4,500 nautical miles of range
Built in Croatia by the yard behind SCORPIOS and CLASE AZUL
Tramontana builds a family of big motorsailers on the Croatian coast, and REPOSADO is the third of them I have walked, after the modern Croatian motorsailers that have changed what the word gulet means here. SCORPIOS and CLASE AZUL came before her, with the same interior studio, and the three are run as a fleet: the chief stewardess who set the service standard on CLASE AZUL is now aboard REPOSADO, and the stewardess training runs across all three boats. When I visited in 2024 the owner was in the galley with the chef and the sous chef, which tells you how close the family is to the operation.
What the fleet shares is consistency. What REPOSADO adds is finish. Herringbone wood floors, a shell chandelier over an oval dining table laid in green and gold, burgundy velvet against pale oak, and a level of upkeep I would put against any new Italian build in this size.
The sun deck: a jacuzzi under the mast, a marble bar top and a pizza oven
The sun deck is where REPOSADO stops being a sailing yacht and becomes a venue. The jacuzzi takes eight and sits beneath the main mast, with a marble bar top running along its edge so drinks stay at hand without anyone getting out. Behind it is a full outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, a fire pit for the evening, a sit-up bar, modular lounges that move around to suit the group, and a dining table under the rigging that seats everyone. The outdoor cinema sets up here too.
On my September visit lunch was laid up here at anchor, with the coast of Split behind and the sails furled overhead, and it is the single best advertisement for a Croatian week I have seen on a boat: the whole group at one table, in the open, on a deck that is clearly designed for exactly that.
The fold-down balcony
Along one side of the hull a section of the bulwark folds down into a balcony over the water, with two chairs and a small table on it. It is a detail from much bigger superyachts, and on a 52-metre motorsailer it is the place to take a coffee alone while the rest of the group is on the sun deck. Every time I have been aboard someone has been sitting out there.
Inside REPOSADO: the saloon, the bar and the detail
The main saloon is one open room: the oval table for twelve under its chandelier, a long burgundy lounge facing a screen, and a bar with lit shelving at the forward end. The staircase comes down into it, so the room is the centre of the boat rather than a corridor between decks. During the 2025 lunch a violinist played in the corner, which is the kind of thing this crew arranges without being asked.
The detail is the point. Matching napkins and cushions, the right glass for the drink, flowers that match the table. None of it is expensive on its own; all of it together is what a five-star week feels like.
The cabins: a full-beam master with a lounge, a bath and a makeup room
The master is full beam, with its own lounge, a bathroom with a freestanding bath, and a makeup table with a lit mirror that I described in 2024 as fit for a superstar and still would. The VIP follows the same language in pale oak with a burgundy accent. The four guest cabins convert between double and twin, each with its own bathroom, in green or burgundy with a large window rather than a porthole.
Twelve guests in six cabins is the standard layout for this class, and REPOSADO does not try to squeeze more in. What she does is make the smaller cabins feel finished rather than functional.
At anchor with her sisters, September 2025
The second visit was not a dock walkthrough. REPOSADO, SCORPIOS and CLASE AZUL were anchored together off Split at the end of the show, three dark hulls with three masts each, and we went out by tender for lunch aboard. It is the way to see her: at rest in a bay, sails furled, the foredeck sunpads out, the crew in a line at the rail. Seeing the three together also makes the fleet idea obvious. They are sisters, not copies, and REPOSADO is the one with the most finish.
Toys, tender and the beach club
Two Sea-Doo jet skis, two Seabobs, an e-foil, two paddleboards, water skis, a wakeboard, an inflatable trampoline and a two-person doughnut, with an 8.5-metre Advance tender on twin 225hp Mercurys to run them. The beach club opens onto the swim platform at the stern. Her listing also flags her as wheelchair accessible, which is rare on a sailing yacht; ask us about the specifics for your guest before counting on it.
Who REPOSADO is for
Six couples or an extended family who want the finish of a new motor yacht on a sailing boat. The cabins, the saloon and the service are at that level; the masts are the bonus.
A group that will live on the sun deck. Jacuzzi, bar, pizza oven, fire pit, cinema and the whole party at one table under the rig.
A charter that wants Montenegro too. She runs Croatia and Montenegro in summer, and at 11 knots with 4,500 miles of range the crossing to Kotor is a morning.
Anyone choosing between the three Tramontanas. REPOSADO is the newest and the most finished. See the yachts that stood out at the Croatian show for how she compares.
Who REPOSADO is not for
Groups larger than twelve. Six cabins, no pullmans. For big groups in this length, look at RENATA for finish at twelve or the large-group fleet for more.
Anyone who wants to sail hard. She is a motorsailer: the sails set, the engines do the work, and 11 knots is the pace. Expect quiet motoring with canvas up, not racing.
Anyone on a tight budget for twelve. At €115,000 to €155,000 plus VAT and expenses she sits at the top of the Croatian motorsailer market, and the price is the finish.
Strict dietary needs without notice. The galley is strong on Mediterranean cooking, and at my own lunch in 2025 the vegan option was an afterthought. Tell the chef when you book, not when you board, and it will be handled.
Before you book REPOSADO
- Send dietary requirements and preferences with the booking. The crew are good; give them the brief early.
- Decide the four convertible cabins as doubles or twins before arrival.
- Ask for a sun deck dinner on the first night. The pizza oven and the fire pit are the boat at her best.
- If Montenegro is in the plan, say so at the start so the route and paperwork are set.
- Read our guide to food on a Croatia yacht charter if you have not chartered here before.
